SWING Biomethane announces a new partnership with Gas da Terra to design, build and operate a portfolio of biomethane projects in Portugal

Paris, France – 23 November 2023 – SWING Biomethane SAS, a European leading biomethane projects development platform, today announced a new partnership with Gas da Terra LDA to develop a portfolio of biomethane projects in Portugal. SWING Biomethane will provide Gas da Terra with the technical and financial resources needed to accelerate the development of the biomethane market in Portugal and contribute to a more sustainable and circular economy.

Portugal has a significant potential for biomethane production, with over 10 million tonnes of organic waste produced each year. The country is pushing the development of its emerging biomethane market to decarbonizing its economy, with the objective of replacing 10% of Portugal’s gas consumption by biomethane in 2030.
