SWING Biomethane announces a new partnership with Dafo Ecoenergias to design, build and operate a portfolio of biomethane projects in Spain

Paris, France – 09 July 2024 – SWING Biomethane SAS, a European leading biomethane projects development platform, today announced a new partnership with Dafo Ecoenergias S.L. to create a joint development company to develop a portfolio of biomethane projects in Spain. The partnership is a significant step forward for the company and will help to accelerate the development of the biomethane market in Spain and contribute to a more sustainable and circular economy.

Spain has a significant potential for biomethane production, considering the large volumes of organic waste generated each year by its agricultural sector. The country has also set up ambitious targets for the development of its biomethane market and the Spanish Gas Association (Sedigas) estimates that biomethane could account for almost half of Spain’s natural gas consumption, therefore contributing to decarbonizing its economy and reducing its dependence to foreign gas supply.
